Lego Man (Design)

22 11 2010

I like the Lego toys, so I decided to make a model in Metasequoia.

My young son asked me to have a helmet.

This is a render picture:

But the 3D model was not enough, it’s time to make templates in Pepakura to give volume to the design.

This is the face template:

This is the template in PDF format:

This is the format version PDO: LegoMan.pdo (Zip file)

This video is an exploration of design from Metasequoia:

This is amazing! Would it be possible to post the whole .pdf file? I only seem to see the first page. Thanks!

PDF File (, has 6 leaves, the last render design appears in white. Such as images, it may take to load a bit to show the document.

You can right click on the link ( and “save link as …”, to have a copy on your computer so you can see it.

You can try to file with the file in PDO (, but for that you have to download the Pepakura Viewer ( or have the Pepakura Designer (

Great job!

When I download the file and want to open it in the pdo designer it ask for a password when I want to export it as a vector file (I want to cut it out with the laser cutter)

Do you know how to solve that problem?

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

PDO file has no password, I think it is a problem in your program Pepakura, you may license or you must install it again.

If you do not solve the problem, I can send an exported version of vector files, just show me the type of file (EPS, DXF or EMF) and the scale you want.

When I print it out it seems really tiny. From the pictures in your other post I thought it was a lot bigger.

You can try to use the PDO file but need the Pepakura program (licensed) to modify it to the required size. In the “2D Menu / Change Scale / Scale Factor …”, you can change the height, width and depth in millimeters necessary.

Another way is through the PDF file, using a printer that supports larger paper A3, A2, A1 or A0. You set the printer to print to size the width and height of the sheet. Note that the bigger is the model, must be thicker cardboard.

Do you have this file available in .dxf format, would really appreciate it. Want to cut it on a automated board cutter.

has the pdo file been moved. When I click on the link it says ‘can’t be found’?

Maybe you could email me a copy?

Thanks 🙂
